Our Hosted VoIP Service Explained

OnSIP is a hosted voip service catered specifically to small and medium sized businesses. But what exactly do we mean when we say ‘hosted voip’? There are so many different kinds of VoIP phone services that claim to offer one hosted service or another. It’s easy to get confused about the details. At Junction Networks, it’s these details that matter because we know that each and every business has different needs. With OnSIP, you’ll have the flexibility to design your service plan so that it works for you and your business.

What we don’t do

OnSIP is not a managed VoIP service. Managed VoIP service providers are one option for companies that want the benefits of an IP telephony system without the headaches of managing an on-site VoIP solution. With managed VoIP services, a provider offers all the equipment, software, facilities, and technical expertise for their clients. A typical managed VoIP service package also includes the design, and deployment of telephony equipment and software, as well as the maintenance and management of existing phone solutions and the new phone network.

Many people often get hosted VoIP confused with managed VoIP because someone else is managing your business VoIP phone system in both cases. Managed simply means it's your physical phone system, just managed by an outsourced team, possibly in an independent data center.

Some companies take the on premise VoIP solutions of businesses and relocate them to secure data centers. These services are also sometimes referred to as ‘hosted VoIP’, but it is definitely not what we do. The benefit of a service like this is that companies are able to own their own equipment in a secure, disaster-resistant facility. However, a lot of the time, the equipment may have single points of failure that could easily take the daily operations of a business off course.

Our Business

So what do we mean when we say ‘hosted voip’? We mean that we take care of every component of your business VoIP phone system with our equipment, our servers, and our services. With our equipment, we route your calls over the public switched telephone network (PSTN) to your hosted VoIP pbx system. There’s no expensive hardware to buy and no software to download.

The advantages of using the OnSIP hosted voip service are numerous:

  • No hidden fees

With OnSIP, we don’t dictate what phones you need, or what equipment you need to use. Unlike some providers that require you to buy a certain brand of phone from them at a markup, we leave the equipment decisions all to you. Buy the phones that you want, or bring your old VoIP phones to OnSIP.

  • Pay for what you use

Our extensions are free, our services are customizable online, and our pay-as-go plans save businesses thousands annually. Because our customers can add extensions for free, OnSIP has the best scalability of any business phone service. Anticipating explosive growth for your business? Add 10 extensions at no cost.

  • Redundancy

The components of our services (voicemail, routing rules, etc) are each hosted on a farm of servers, so your daily operations are always running without a hitch.

All you need to take advantage of our hosted VoIP services are phones and your company’s broadband connection.
