My.OnSIP on Gource: Software Version Control Visualization

If you haven't seen already, Gource is a neat little tool that turns your version control system into visual art, a video of glowing movement that represent developers' changing code over time.

"Software projects are displayed by Gource as an animated tree with the root directory of the project at its centre. Directories appear as branches with files as leaves. Developers can be seen working on the tree at the times they contributed to the project," describes the Gource website.

Check out this video of My.OnSIP from March 2009 - May 2010. Brian, Software Engineer, made it last night. Almost just as amusing is the rest of the team's reaction to it (below).

Reactions:

Tim (SIP Maven) I'm not sure what I'm watching but it looks like the engineers are sprites or willow-the-wisps.....kind of sad when Steve fades out at around 1:20 or so....the music's good.

Nicole (me, Marketing): I was going to ask you guys about that [creating a Gource video]. But then, I decided to choose my battles when it came to the engineering team's time.

Rob (President): Dreamy. Can I fly around with little angel wings as the busy bees do their work?
