Who doesn't love a vacation—especially a bucket-list trip, a dream getaway, or a milestone celebration?! With all the online booking websites and DIY options out there, there's still no substitute for a travel advisor who knows you and builds the right itinerary around you. For a travel agency, that means being reachable and responsive on every call; it makes the difference between a client who books with confidence and one who looks elsewhere.
Destinations, a luxury travel agency based out of Northwest Arkansas, has built its reputation on exactly that kind of personal attention. We connected with Angie Collins, Travel Advisor and Admin at Destinations, to hear how OnSIP's hosted VoIP platform helps her team stay connected to clients, whether they're at their desks or on the go.
A Local Travel Agency in Arkansas with a National Client Base
“Destinations is a travel agency that books cruises, land tours, airline tickets, family vacations, destination wedding packages, and honeymoons. Our clients are located throughout the U.S.,” Angie tells us.
Situated in the Airways Freight Building in Fayetteville, Destinations is the only brick and mortar travel agency in Northwest Arkansas, a distinction that reflects the hands-on, relationship-driven approach its team of travel advisors brings to every trip they plan.
Finding the Right VoIP Phone System Through a Trusted Partner
Back in 2019, Destinations needed to replace its phone system and decided to switch to a hosted VoIP service. The agency was introduced to OnSIP through a partner referral: Joshua B Jones of JBJ Resources, an Arkansas-based IT and security company offering everything from alarm systems and cameras to cybersecurity solutions and phone systems.
Joshua recommended OnSIP's hosted VoIP platform to the Destinations office, and it didn't take long for the fit to become clear. After seeing the OnSIP service in action, "it seemed to be the right fit for our small business," Angie explains.
And seven years on, the agency hasn't looked back once. “We have been very happy with our OnSIP system since it was installed,” she says.
Answering Client Calls from Anywhere with the OnSIP Softphone Apps
Travel doesn't happen on a strict 9-to-5 schedule, and neither does the work of booking it. That's why the Destinations team uses all three versions of the OnSIP app—desktop, web, and mobile—to stay reachable no matter where the workday takes them.
“Our office uses all three versions. This makes it easier for us when we are out and about, not at our desks or at the office. We can answer on the go from anywhere.”
That flexibility proved especially valuable during the COVID pandemic. Destinations shifted to working from home for several months during that time, relying on OnSIP to keep the business running without missing a beat. “It helped us to not miss phone calls and keep our business running smoothly while not in the office,” Angie recalls. “We conducted business as usual from home.”
Day to day, that same flexibility carries over to how the team handles calls now. Staff members use the OnSIP app to answer work phone calls on their cell phones and log into the web app to make and take calls from anywhere, anytime. The result, Angie says, is a team that communicates with clients “with ease” and can retrieve their voicemail messages virtually whether they’re in the office or working on the go.
Knowledgeable, Helpful OnSIP Support When It's Needed
Beyond the day-to-day reliability of the VoIP service itself, Angie highlights the OnSIP Support Team as a standout part of the experience. “The support team seems very knowledgeable and helpful in all areas,” she says.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to work with such a user-friendly system and feel lucky to have such great support when we run into an issue.”
For a client-focused small business like Destinations, that combination of an easy-to-use platform and dependable support means the team of travel advisors can stay focused on what they do best: helping clients plan the trips they've been dreaming about.
