We're excited to attend and sponsor DevCon5 this week, the annual HTML5 & Mobile App Developers Conference hosted a few subway stops away from us in New York City. OnSIP CTO John Riordan is slated to talk about the technical challenges of modifying a JavaScript library (our own SIP.js) to fully integrate WebRTC into our mature SIP platform. DevCon5 will feature two full days of exhibitions from dozens of web-focused companies, as well as presentations by several recognized authorities in the web development world.

"We're excited to showcase a new version of SIP.js to the developers at DevCon5," said OnSIP Software Engineer Eric Green, one of the developers of the library. "The entire development team has been working hard to get all the new features tested and bugs out of the code. Some of the really exciting things that have been done include an updated media handler, node.js support, and data channel support."

John is set to speak alongside Peter Dunkley (Technical Director, Acision) and Michael Spiceland (Head of Engineering, Respoke) on the topic of “Real-Time Communications in HTML5 and Native Mobile Applications Using WebRTC.” The talk will explain how developers can harness the WebRTC API to incorporate real-time communications into their mobile applications. Along with other examples, John will provide his own experience with SIP.js to discuss how our engineers modified a codebase to build a reliable, scalable WebRTC signaling platform that can be used on mobile devices.

John's panel takes place from 1-2 pm on July 10th, and OnSIP will demo one of our WebRTC technologies at Table 6, right by the entrance. The rest of the schedule can be found here. Our engineers who crafted SIP.js and The OnSIP Network are looking forward to sharing their work with the broader developer community.
