Tomorrow kicks off the WebRTC Conference and Expo III in Santa Clara, California (November 19-21), of which OnSIP is a proud sponsor. After releasing GetOnSIP last month, our team is excited to share our knowledge of implementing WebRTC with the broad audience of service providers, enterprises, Web providers, investors, and developers attending the expo. OnSIP CTO John Riordan will speak on the panel "100% WebRTC - Is It Practical for Your Application?"

WebRTC could potentially offer a world in which an app developer can develop an app once and have it consumed everywhere. But there are perils to this vision, such as the problem of legacy devices and the struggle to integrate WebRTC into existing platforms. With considerations such as these, it's hard to decide if adopting WebRTC is right for any individual developer.

John will discuss how GetOnSIP confronted these challenges head on in "100% WebRTC." GetOnSIP initiates compatibility with older VoIP phones and maintains full interoperability with our mature SIP platform. Our engineers' unique approach to WebRTC implementation does not treat WebRTC as a bubble that must be 'controlled' or 'broken' to interoperate with our platform.

"OnSIP is pushing the limits of WebRTC development," said John. "We ultimately want to deliver cutting-edge features to our hosted PBX customers as well as robust Platform as a Service offerings to the WebRTC and SIP development community. I'm looking forward to meeting with others developing WebRTC-based applications."

This is the second time our team will attend the conference. Last time we attended, we engaged in workshops and keynote speeches offered by AT&T, Ericsson, Mozilla, Cisco, Google, and Oracle. This time, OnSIP is excited to offer its own take on how WebRTC was the right choice for a mature telephony company invested in real time communications.
