When a product or service is marketed as "free", oftentimes there is a catch involved. But OnSIP, a real-time communications (RTC) provider, is working on debunking that notion. A trusted provider of business communication solutions, OnSIP lets organizations move their calling and other communication needs to the web -- all at no cost! How? Through their new Free Plan. Launched in September of 2016, OnSIP’s Free Plan is a 100% web-based voice, video, and messaging solution for teams.

Better Communication and Collaboration without the Crippling Costs

Nicole Hayward, Chief Marketing Officer at OnSIP, says that the company is driven by their mission to provide better user experience, call data, and savings to customers by moving business calling to the web. And this latest offering strengthens their mission even further. From voice calling and messaging, to video chat and voicemail management, OnSIP’s Free plan lets businesses reap the benefits of more tools and functionality than what a traditional phone system can offer.

To take advantage of this excellent offering, users simply have to sign up for an account and log in to the OnSIP app. Since the OnSIP app is a business-grade browser phone, users do not need to download or install anything. Hayward said, “To receive inbound calls, users can share unique voice and video web call links on their websites, email signatures, and social media profiles. The plan also includes Slack integration, a Google Chrome extension, the ability to register OnSIP with any SIP compatible device or application for free SIP-SIP calling.

Users can also enhance the Free Plan by purchasing a la carte features such as Auto Attendant, Ring Group, Call Recording, Conference Suite, Voicemail to Email, Call Parking and more.

Free Plan Vs OnSIP’s Pay as You Go, Metered User, and Unlimited User plans

The great thing about OnSIP is its unprecedented pricing flexibility. According to Hayward, OnSIP is committed to “meet the varied calling needs of our customers and ultimately save them money!” Aside from the Free Plan, OnSIP also offers the Pay as You Go, Metered User, and Unlimited User plans to its customers.

The Pay as You Go plan includes all the features from the Free plan, but the key difference is that the former does not have restrictions regarding calling (as it includes web and PSTN calling), the number of users, or access to Customer Support. Their Pay as You Go plan also has no charge per user, extension, or phone. Customers pay calls on a per-minute basis, as well as a minimum set of business calling features.

The Per Seat Metered plan, meanwhile, charges $8.95 per user, per month (with a minimum of 5 users). It includes everything from the Pay as You Go plan, plus a voicemail box, an auto-attendant, a ring group, call parking capability, and more.

Finally, the Unlimited User plan is priced at $24.95 per user per month (with a minimum of 5 users). It includes everything from the Metered plan, plus unlimited standard area calling, call recording, and the ability to purchase additional apps a la carte. The Standard Area calling covers the lower 48 U.S. states, as well as over a dozen countries in North and South America, and Europe.

As you can see, compared to the other plans from OnSIP, the Free Plan has the simplest communication offering. This makes it highly suitable for small businesses who are looking to get off the ground running with a flexible and reliable communications system, but without the monthly fees, contracts, or expiration dates. However, should the organization’s communication needs change over time, they can easily add features a la carte or upgrade to any of OnSIP’s paid plans anytime.
