We're happy to announce our upcoming sponsorship of two conferences this August. OnSIP will be a Silver Sponsor at the Real-Time Web Solutions Conference, and a 8bit sponsor of ClueCon 2016. Our team members John Riordan, James Criscuolo, and Eric Tamme will also be speaking and participating in panels at both expos.

Here's more information on the dates, times, content of our presentations, and the expos in general.

The Real-Time Web Solutions Conference

Real-Time Web Solutions Conference
The last WebRTC conference brought out luminaries from across the industry

The Real-Time Web Solutions Conference will be held this year on August 1 - 4, 2016, at The Kimmel Center in New York City. The conference is designed for developers who want to build real-time web solutions in-house, along with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) providers. In addition to being a Silver Sponsor, OnSIP will also send team members to the following panels:

  • How to Get Started Building Your First WebRTC Application - This panel will be held Wednesday, August 3 at 10 am. OnSIP Lead Software Engineer James Criscuolo will offer tips for developers building their first WebRTC apps. James is a co-author of SIP.js, a leading open source WebRTC and SIP library for web developers.
  • Should You Deliver a Platform - Also at Wednesday, August 3rd at 10 am, this panel will examine the challenges of delivering a platform with APIs and SDKs for developers. OnSIP co-founder and CTO John Riordan will join the discussion, adding his first-hand experience of both UCaaS and CPaaS solutions.

Formerly known as the WebRTC Conference & Expo, the Real-Time Web Solutions Conference will be collocated with DevCon5, an expo that focuses on developments in HTML5 and mobile apps. Indeed, the future of both WebRTC and HTML5 are uniquely intertwined.

ClueCon

ClueCon location: SwissHotel
ClueCon 2016 will be held at the Swissôtel Chicago

ClueCon will be held August 8 - 11, 2016, a week after the Real-Time Web Solutions Conference, at the Swissôtel Chicago. Started in 2005, ClueCon is an annual telephony and VoIP conference founded by FreeSwitch, an open source communications software association.

On Tuesday, August 9th from 12:30 pm - 1 pm, OnSIP Principal Engineer Eric Tamme is scheduled to give a presentation on utilizing statistical analysis to detect abnormal patterns in VoIP systems. The informal title is "Building Fun Things with SIP or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb", a reference to Stanley Kubrick's classic 1964 film, Dr. Strangelove.

"So many great things have emerged from this conference over the many, many years we have been doing this!" remarked Anthony Minessale, Founder of FreeSWITCH and ClueCon. "FreeSWITCH was born at the first ClueCon and we have been going strong ever since with new ideas and new contributions to the open source communications industry."

OnSIP Shares FreeSWITCH and WebRTC Knowledge

“We are proud to once again participate in the Real-Time Web Solutions Conference and ClueCon this summer,” said John Riordan. “We rely heavily on open source technologies to deliver scalable, reliable, real-time business communications services, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without FreeSWITCH and WebRTC.”

FreeSWITCH and WebRTC are core components of our platform, and we work with these technologies on a daily basis. We're happy to share the knowledge our architects and engineers have acquired through building business grade products for our customers. We're looking forward to FreeSWITCH and ClueCon, and we hope to learn a few things ourselves!
