Junction Networks OnSIP Users Can Download fring to Mobile Devices to Place and Receive Calls Through Their OnSIP Hosted PBX Service
Junction Networks has announced that its OnSIP Hosted PBX users can download and use fring® to enable OnSIP extension-to-extension VoIP calls and to place and receive calls using an Apple iPhone™ or other fring-compatible device over a Wi-Fi connection.
“We have always envisioned a day when mobile users could be completely untethered from their corporate desk phones,” said Junction Networks CEO Mike Oeth. “Now, with fring and OnSIP, users can stay connected to the corporate phone system from anywhere a Wi-Fi connection is available, using only the phones in their pockets.”
This means that mobile users are able to dial extension-to-extension calls within their PBXs as well as make calls to the PSTN as if they were using a traditional desk phone in an office. Additionally, users can receive calls to their mobile devices when someone dials their extensions when they are connected via Wi-Fi.
“OnSIP was designed especially for the SMB market, to give smaller companies the functionality of enterprise PBX systems, but at prices they could afford,” continued Oeth. “Now these same SMBs—and their road-warrior employees—can enjoy the flexibility of making and receiving calls through their OnSIP hosted PBX service even while traveling.”
Furthermore, extension-to-extension calls using OnSIP and fring are free. Junction Networks never charges for extension-to-extension calls, and since the call is over a Wi-Fi network and not the cellular network, it does not use mobile minutes. That also means that users can make and receive calls even if they have poor (or no) cellular reception.
