Helene Kidary, our Vice President of Channel Sales, attended Cloud Expo New York this week, and we have the inside scoop!
The expo took place June 7-9 at the Javits Center in Manhattan. The exhibition floor featured 100+ exhibitors offering specific solutions and comprehensive strategies for many different cloud computing topics. Keynote speakers, session panelists, company exhibitors, and media sponsors discussed a wide range of issues, such as:
- The Internet of Things
- Big Data
- Containers
- Microservices
- DevOps
- WebRTC
According to Cloud Expo, a recent survey shows that 74% of enterprises have a hybrid cloud strategy. Additionally, 94% of enterprises are using some type of XaaS - software, platform, or infrastructure as a service. By harnessing this increased popularity, Cloud Expo New York aimed for a wide-ranging dialogue on the future of cloud computing and the technologies that drive it.
Helene saw IBM's UCaaS voice space offerings, and also visited the Fusion exhibit. She also saw vendors for CIO apps, storage, IoT solutions, SNDs, NICs, and custom software developments.
"It was fascinating to see the latest trends of Infrastructure Management and IoT on a macro scale," said Helene. "The expo addressed XaaS issues that concerned enterprises and SMBs alike. I was also happy to reconnect with members of the FusionConnect team and meet with Randy Weinberger, the President of IceHook, an OnSIP customer."
IceHook enables real time communications by providing infrastructure software as a service and is the creator of FireRTC, a free WebRTC-based phone.
Cloud Expo New York was a great chance to see some of the nation's top cloud computing companies in action. Hope to see you there next year!
