As the holidays are upon us, we thought it would be fun to talk to customers who get really busy during the holiday season.
One such customer is Christmas Tree For Me, LLC, and you guessed it right: they specialize in Christmas decorations - trees, as well as wreaths, garland, lights, the works. They have been using OnSIP since 2007 and have found OnSIP a reliable phone system for their high-volume calling needs. Bill Quinn, Founder of Christmas Tree For Me, talks about his OnSIP experience.
Describe Christmas Tree For Me and its products.
Christmas Tree For Me, LLC specializes in artificial Christmas décor; this includes Christmas trees, wreaths and garland, plus lights. The majority of our business is residential with the rest split between commercial and government applications.
What phone service did you have prior and why did you want to switch?
In 2004 & 2005, we used Vonage. We grew and in 2006 we needed a more sophisticated business class solution. In 2006 and 2007, we used a VoIP service that has since gone out of business. The main challenge with the service was everything was proprietary and locked down from a security standpoint. The challenge with this model was that EVERY little change had to be done by employees of the VoIP service company rather than our own people. This made it very cumbersome to make changes and obviously raised the cost of the service.
What were you looking for in a phone service?
Obviously being in a seasonal business, we must use scalable, nimble service providers. For our VoIP solution with OnSIP, we are able to scale our phone service to meet high demand and then rapidly scale back in the off season.
How is OnSIP meeting your needs?
From the beginning, OnSIP has provided the kind of support we need. What we need is the ability to manage the administration of the system ourselves with the ability to escalate more technical matters to someone with deep knowledge in the VoIP domain. The people in the support group are superb. They explain details in a way the layman can understand and are extraordinarily understanding even when they know the issue is not with their service but with someone else’s hardware.
Tell us about the holiday season.
Our holiday season is intense. We go from very few calls in quarter 2 of every year to calls every few minutes in December. With OnSIP, we have the ability to setup call handling anywhere in the world with any device.
