Fifty Installations and Counting: Why Crossroad IT Trusts OnSIP as Their Exclusive VoIP Partner

Managed service providers live and die by the recommendations they're willing to put their name behind. And that’s something we don’t take lightly.

When an MSP tells a client, “This is the platform we use, too," that's not a sales pitch, it's a reputation on the line. Crossroad IT, a managed IT services provider based in Telford, Pennsylvania, has been making that recommendation for years. We sat down with President Nate Davis to learn what's kept that trust intact.

"OnSIP has been our exclusive VoIP partner for more than a decade," says Nate Davis, President of Crossroad IT. "After more than 50 installations, we continue to value its reliability, flexibility, and responsive team. We also use it every day in our own business to support more than 120 companies. It's a platform we trust for our customers and ourselves."

That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of a partnership built on trust, thorough preparation, and a shared commitment to getting technology right the first time.

The Arc from Insurance IT to Full-Service MSP

Nate's path into IT began in 2000, working for a large insurance company. A decade later, in 2010, he struck out on his own and founded Davis Services Group. The business grew steadily, and in 2017, it was rebranded as Crossroad IT, the name it carries today.

Crossroad IT now serves more than 120 companies across Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, Lancaster, Berks, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties, with clients spanning healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, nonprofits, and small businesses. They rely on Crossroad for network management, monitoring, desktop support, cybersecurity, backups, disaster recovery, and managed email. What started as one man's insurance IT background has become a full-service technology partner for businesses across Eastern Pennsylvania.

A Business Built on Personal Relationships

Crossroad IT’s work is guided by a commitment to honesty, integrity, and care for others. Those convictions shape how the company builds relationships, recommends solutions, and supports its customers. For Nate and his team, that means treating people with respect, doing what’s right, and standing behind their work.

"We build customer relationships through personalized service, without requiring long-term contracts or charging per user for our managed IT services," Nate explains. "Each business has different needs, so we tailor our solutions to the client's environment."

That philosophy extends to communications, where OnSIP hosted VoIP becomes another piece of the customer's technology supported with the same hands-on care as their networks and computers. Customers get one point of contact for their phone systems, backed by a team that already knows their infrastructure inside and out.

Finding a VoIP Partner Worth Recommending

As Crossroad IT's service line grew to cover nearly every corner of a client's technology stack, VoIP was a missing piece. Adding a reliable communications solution meant the team could offer a more comprehensive product line and bolster their portfolio, without sending customers elsewhere for their phone systems. The goal was straightforward: find a solution the team could vouch without hesitation. "We were looking for a trusted VoIP provider we could confidently recommend and deploy for our customers," Nate says.

The path to OnSIP came through a personal referral. A friend whose company was already running on the platform recommended it, and that introduction stuck. "The personal recommendation gave us confidence to explore OnSIP," he recalls. "The reliability, flexibility, and ease of managing the platform, along with a responsive partner team, are what have kept us with OnSIP for more than a decade. It's a solution we can confidently stand behind."

Support That’s There When It’s Actually Needed

"We handle most customer needs internally and rarely need to escalate issues to OnSIP support," he says. "That allows our team to manage phone systems efficiently while giving customers a familiar point of contact."

When they do need help, particularly with number porting during deployments, Nate says the OnSIP team is quick to respond. "We rarely need to contact technical support because the product works so well, but we value knowing a responsive, supportive team is available when we need assistance."

Preparation as a Deployment Philosophy

For Nate and his Team, deployment starts with homework, not hardware; an assessment of current infrastructure, desired features, hardware needs, and headcount across in-office and remote workers.

From there, the real work happens before anyone arrives on premises. "Before installation, we preconfigure the hardware in our office and complete the system programming," Nate explains. That includes call routing, voicemail boxes, and auto attendants, so customers present a polished, consistent experience to every caller from day one.

Only then does the team deploy at the customer's location, coordinating number porting with OnSIP along the way. Everything afterward, all moves, adds, and changes, is handled in-house by Crossroad. Every installation is customized to the client, from hardware selection to call flow, giving Crossroad IT full ownership of the customer experience from their first call to their last.

Ten Years, Fifty Installations, One Lesson

After more than fifty installations and a decade-long partnership, Nate's advice to other partners comes down to a single principle: preparation.

"Understanding the customer's needs and completing configuration before arriving onsite are central to our deployment process," he says. "Handling ongoing support ourselves then gives customers continuity long after installation."

For Crossroad IT, that's the entire partnership formula in a nutshell: prepare thoroughly, support directly, and let the OnSIP platform do what it does best.
