OnSIP Customer Testimonial: Zementis

Written by Samantha | July 10, 2012 at 4:00 AM

Mike Zeller, CEO of long-time OnSIP customer Zementis, graciously shared his time with us this month to tell us a little bit about Zementis and how they are using OnSIP.

What is Zementis? Tell us about an average day at Zementis.

Zementis is a leading software company focused on the operational deployment and integration of predictive analytics and data mining solutions. We are headquartered in San Diego, but we also have an office in Hong Kong to serve our Asia/Pacific clients.

Our ADAPA® decision engine successfully bridges the gap between science and engineering. ADAPA® and the Universal PMML Plug-inT are designed from the ground up to benefit from open standards and to significantly shorten the time-to-market for predictive analytics in any industry. For more information, please visit our website, Zementis.com.

There is no "average" day at Zementis. That's the beauty of it! We have lots of fun with cool technology, and love serving global clients at the intersection of big data, cloud computing, and predictive analytics.

Explain your company's future plans, and how OnSIP can help you grow.

Communication is key! We grow through our partners such as IBM, SAIC, Sybase, EMC, and others. For example, Dymatrix in Germany supports our European clients so we need reliable telecommunications at a good cost. As we grow, we can add phone lines no matter where our employees are, which enables them to work remotely.

How did you find OnSIP? What were you looking for in a phone service/system?

We've had trouble in the past with phone services. Before OnSIP, Zementis started out with a traditional phone service. We also tried a smaller provider who hosted a SIP based system. Both of these did not meet our requirements as we expanded as they were neither scalable nor cost effective. We discovered OnSIP through research and recommendations.

The tricky part to phone systems is picking the right service provider. OnSIP takes all the headaches out of provisioning phone lines. When researching OnSIP, we knew we wanted a fully hosted solution with easy configuration. We did not want to have the same problems we had with traditional phone services. OnSIP is very reliable.

What phones are you currently using? What OnSIP features are you taking advantage of?

We're using Linksys, Cisco, and Polycom phones. The Ciscos are being retired and we recommend the Polycom SoundPoint IP 335 based on our experience. We use OnSIP's basic features such as forwarding, and groups for support. We're just scratching the tip of the iceberg. Next, we are looking to get a conference bridge.
