WebRTC users now have a third browser choice when selecting a WebRTC-enabled browser. This is another step forward towards complete WebRTC adoption by the major browsers. Opera has recently changed its underlying rendering engine from [Presto](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presto_(layout_engine)) to [Blink](http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/04/04/opera-confirms-it-will-follow-google-and-ditch-webkit-for-blink-as-part-of-its-commitment-to-chromium/#!yJBHa), the same rendering engine that is used by Google Chrome. This engineering decision by Opera, to use the same rendering engine as Chrome, made updating [GetOnSIP](https://www.getonsip.com/) and [Instacall Beta](https://www.onsip.com/hosted-voip/instacall) to support Opera painless.

Even though Opera is not the most popular web browser, adding WebRTC support opens to the door for its users to take advantage of real-time communications right in their browser. This also puts pressure on Microsoft and Apple, whose Internet Explorer and Safari browsers still do not support WebRTC. If a small firm like Opera can add WebRTC to its browser, then surely these two multi-billion dollar companies should be technically capable of doing the same.
