We are happy to announce that, today, we are officially releasing OnSIP Music on Hold (MoH). What's the big deal? You may ask. You're probably accustomed to sitting on hold for other businesses, listening to sleepy music and cursing your wasted time. Well, OnSIP MoH isn't your typical MoH experience.
“As many of our customers asked for MoH, we wanted to offer an innovative solution, with lots of music to choose from,” said Rob in today's Music on Hold Press Release. “From basic elevator, to custom company messaging, to their favorite radio stations, customers can now tailor their callers’ on-hold experience. And, it can be customized right down to each individual OnSIP user – playing different MoH streams based on which OnSIP user was called.”
Below is a MoH demo by Rob. Here, you will see how to enable MoH, set your default MoH stream, and add an enhanced MoH stream to an individual user.
Setting Your Channels To enable MoH, you must first set the number of simultaneous channels. Each OnSIP Package comes with a defined limit of simultaneous MoH channels. This is the maximum number of calls on hold that will hear music at any one time. After the simultaneous MoH limit is exceeded, you many continue to place calls on hold, but the calls will not hear MoH.
You may increase your simultaneous channel limit for an additional $4.95 per channel. Choosing Enhanced MoH With standard MoH (free), you can choose from three music sources: Jazz, Classical, and Elevator.
For $19.95 a month, Enhanced Music on Hold allows you to specify any of over 100,000 Shoutcast/Icecast streams as your music on hold music sources within the Resources tab. To enable Enhanced MoH, select the check box as seen below. For more information on Music on Hold, see our Setting Music on Hold Knowledgebase page.
