OnSIP Lights Up Busy Lamp Field

For a long time now, office receptionists and call center managers have relied on phone sidecars and flashing buttons to get a bird’s eye view of which co-workers were on a call. The phone’s flashing lights, Busy Lamp Field, seems a simple enough feature. However, it’s not so simple in a world today as businesses increasingly need geographic flexibility, the ability to connect multiple offices, remote workers, and traveling employees with smart phones.

Today, businesses require phone systems that are just as complex as they are. But the fundamental need of being able to see when a co-worker is on a call has never changed. That’s why OnSIP has innovated its own Busy Lamp Field (BLF) support. It’s a technology that gives you an accurate snapshot of your phone system, regardless of where your co-workers are located or what phones they’re using.

Using the OnSIP admin portal, you can selectively choose the co-workers you want to monitor with just a few clicks of your mouse. Whether you’re at the office, working from home, or on the road, OnSIP’s BLF allows your co-workers to see when you are taking a call, and vice versa. BLF ultimately allows for increased internal communication without requiring the burden of a physical connection.
