Happy Saturday! This week in Unified Communications was an exciting one, with articles covering new integrations, common UC problems and so much more. Now that it’s the weekend, let’s take a look back at these last few days.

The week started off with the news that OnSIP has integrated with Slack for advanced UCaaS. Previously, OnSIP offered an on-demand phone system that is highly flexible and scalable without the burdens of high-cost traditional systems. However, as remote work and collaborative workforce environments become more prevalent, OnSIP decided to add a messaging solution to its portfolio. The company chose Slack, with the hopes of bringing users together no matter what device or platform they’re using. You can find out more about their decision HERE.

Integration seemed to be a popular news item this week, as Verizon joins forces with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform. Like TMC’s Michael Guta points out, “Verizon's One Talk was the nation's first 4G business communications solution using Verizon’s Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology. It was designed to give companies and their employees a true mobile first communications solution so they can be accessible at all times no matter where they are on their smartphones, tablets and desk phones to seamlessly move calls at the touch of a button.” More features are being added to One Talk, and Broadsoft’s platform is going to make sure that users can continue to communicate easily. Find out more HERE.

On another note, West IP Communications and InterCall service and solutions are rebranding under “West” in the Asia Pacific region. According to writer Frank Griffin, “By bringing together West Corporation and InterCall together in the Asia-Pacific region, it will allow the company to address the overwhelming communications needs this highly populated region of the world will demand as they continue their digital transformation and look for a provider to identify their business and communications needs and solve them with best-in-class solutions.” You can find out more about this transformation HERE.

Finally, the week wrapped up with TMC’s Laura Stotler discussing common UC problems and how they can be avoided. Despite technological advances, there remain a few common quality issues that can ultimately spell disaster for any organization. Oftentimes, overburdened IT departments lack the time and resources to fix these problems, so it’s up to you to stop them before they even occur. You can find out what the biggest issues are and how to prevent them from happening HERE.

While some exciting news has been highlighted here, that’s certainly not all that went on this week. Be sure to head to the Unified Communications homepage for all the updates, and come back next week for the latest insights. Have a great weekend!
