Getting the newest Polycom software

If you already have a Polycom phone using our boot server, simply unplug and reconnect your Polycom phone to your LAN. Your phone will get its new software automatically. Note that this process may take anywhere from 30-45 minutes so please plan accordingly.

If you have Polycom phones not on our boot server, you're missing out on an easier provisioning and firmware upgrade process. Not to worry though; it's easy to get your Polycoms on it.

Here's the long and short of it:

  1. Reset your phone to factory defaults.
  2. Enter boot server info into your phone ('http', 'boot.onsip.com') in the 'Server Menu' menu.
  3. Enter the MAC address of the phone into our admin portal in Resources > Phone.
  4. Reboot, and you're done.

For a step-by-step walkthrough of the process, check out our detailed knowledgebase articles on entering boot server information into your phone, and entering the MAC address of your phone in the OnSIP admin portal.

Thinking about getting new Polycoms?

Great! We've been big proponents of Polycoms and they have yet to disappoint us. Right now we're offering a promotion through online vendor Telephony Depot:

Buy any 5 or more Polycom phones with 'OnSIP provisioning' and we'll add $300 of calling credit to your OnSIP account.

Note that 'OnSIP provisioning' makes everything a bit easier by automatically putting our boot server information into the ordered phone so you can skip right to adding the MAC address into our admin portal during setup.
