External Phone Numbers

External Phone Numbers You can route calls as needed to external phone numbers such as your cell phone. Simply add the phone number to your OnSIP account and you can route calls to that number.

Why use this feature?

Never miss a call

If you are waiting for an important call that you don't want to get lost in your voice mailbox, set your routing to forward calls after a few rings to your cell phone number.

Route emergency calls to your technology staff

If you are a service provider with a 24x7 support line, route calls to cell phones if they are not answered by your regular support group.

For example, use Business Hours Routing to answer all calls after normal business hours with the following message:

You have reached our office after regular business hours. If this is an emergency, press ONE on your phone to route your call to an on call support specialist."

If the caller presses ONE, the External Phone Number feature can route the call to the cell phone number of the on call support specialist.
