Inbound Bridge
Inbound Bridge
Let's say you want to use a phone number or toll free number from another provider but you want to use the hosted pbx features of OnSIP.
Although SIP standards allow for this "mashup" of service providers, unfortunately, most service providers do not support the IETF's critical RFC 3515. As a result, when customers route calls from non-compliant providers, calls will regularly get dropped.
To allow customers to use a favorite international number, toll free number or other special number with an existing provider Inbound Bridge is available to get around the limitations of a non-compliant provider.
Inbound Bridge performs the missing SIP function, maintaining the two-way SIP signaling needed for interactivity after a call is already established. It can therefore pass the entered touch-tone digits to the auto attendant and other PBX applications. It can integrate OnSIP with any network vendor having an open SIP implementation.
Of course, as most of our customers do, you can use our inbound phone numbers and toll free numbers which are available in most local areas throughout the US 48. We can port your number from your current provider as well.
