Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge per user, extension, or phone?

Adding users, extensions, and phones to your phone system is 100% free. We only charge you for the hosted services (voice mailboxes, attendant menus, groups, etc.) you use and for calls to and from numbers on the public switched telephone network.

Are there any contracts to sign or long-term commitments you’re not telling me about?

You can cancel at any time, without ever having to worry about penalties.

Can I make international calls?

Absolutely. Our standard calling area includes the US 48 states and many other international destinations, which can all be called for 2.9 cents per minute. Most other international destinations can be found in our extended calling area. These rates vary depending on the destination.

I need a new phone number. What can you do for me?

We have phone numbers available for OnSIP customers in almost every region of the United States. An updated list of these numbers can be found on our phone number availability page. We also offer vanity numbers.

I already have a phone number but I want to use OnSIP. What can I do?

Local Number Portability, or LNP for short, allows you to keep your existing phone number and ‘port’ it to OnSIP. Most numbers can be ported, and we’ll be happy to assist you in any way we can during the process. Do note that it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to port a number. Both toll and toll-free numbers are also eligible. Please contact us to confirm that your number can be ported.

What do I need to start to use OnSIP? Do I need a particular brand or model of phone?

All you need is an Internet connection and any SIP phone. That’s it. OnSIP was designed with an open philosophy in mind, which means that our service is interoperable with any SIP compliant deskphone or software phone. That means less restrictions for you.

How does the 30-day free trial work?

If you decide to cancel your service within 30 days, you will not be charged for any of our hosted services (voicemail boxes, auto attendants, groups, etc). Calls to and from the public switched telephone network are not included in the trial.

How many simultaneous calls will my OnSIP phone number support?

All of the phone numbers you get from us (both toll and toll-free) support up to 25 simultaneous calls. You’ll find that this is in stark contrast to competing services that advertise “unlimited inbound calling” but restrict their numbers to just a single call at a time. With OnSIP, your customers will never hear a busy signal.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Please have a valid billing address in the United States.

I’ve signed up; now what? Where can I get the help I need to get up and running?

We host an interactive webinar twice a week, 2:00 PM Eastern every Tuesday and 12:00 PM Eastern every Thursday, for everyone who’s just getting started. The webinar lasts about 30 minutes, longer than the time it will take you to set up your OnSIP phone system, and is followed by Q&A. Click here to join and dial 1-888-864-0686 at the start of the session.
