System Instability Comments: 10
Junction Networks is currently experiencing a network instability. Systems appear to back up, but we are still monitoring the situation and will update this post with a follow-up. Only calls to and from the PSTN were affected.
System Restored at 10:44am
Junction Networks experienced a system-wide outage on all calls to/from the PSTN today (10/26/09) from approximately 10:22am EST until 10:44am EST. During that time all calls to and from the PSTN were affected. As of 10:44am service has been fully restored.
The root cause of the issue was related to our database firewall. The firewall was restarted which should not have caused an issue, but it caused the PSTN gateways to be unable to authenticate customers with the database server. The root issue was quickly tracked down and remedied.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Update: Data corruption
The previous outage has caused a data corruption in the database server. We are restoring the data now.

Update: The previous outage caused a data corruption in the database server. Services were unavailable from 11:20am EST until 11:40am EST. The data has been restored and services have been restored.
